Ambient Noise at Paddington (inspired by @juliantreasure)
One of the most interesting sessions at Thinking Digital - largely because it was so different to the usual visual fodder - was the sound thinking (in more ways than one - ho ho) of @juliantreasure (blog here) who was evangelising the need for us all to think about sound and the 'soundscape': more here at TED.
His presentation was made visceral by fantastic use of immediate examples throughout and Julian left us with: "Your ears are always on". Now, ask yourself: at what point in development or presentation (or whatever) do you think about the sound? Be honest now...
Combined with @documentally continuing to wax lyrical about Audioboo then I thought I'd make my first - perhaps of many. I've known about Audioboo for quite some time, but hadn't seen it used to such effect until Thinking Digital.
This little recording is simply known as "Ambient Noise at Paddington" and was recorded on Platform 8 at around 11am. So peaceful. Or something. Mainly something.
(This is also another little test to see if Audioboo embeds correctly in Posterous).
