That Windows 8 Thing

In case you missed it, then Steven Sinofsky pulled some of the wrapping off the Windows 8 box today at the AllThingsD (after trading a few with Walt Mossberg).  You can catch the AllThingsD coverage here.

The video above shows some of the user experience – very metro-y WP7-y and the notion of apps using HTML5 and JS opens a bunch of opportunities. We also announced the Build conference where we’ll show you how to, well, build for this next generation of devices running Windows 8. (Might be a good idea to register soon...)

Full official details at the Microsoft Presspass site.

#WP7 App Round-Up

I had to hand back my lovely Orange HTC Mozart the other week and I’m now using a Samsung Focus from AT&T. The Mozart was a great device and I miss it. The Focus struck me initially as not very compelling, but it’s performed really well, with a good battery life and a decent screen so I’m actually very happy with it.

I’m liking the ‘Pinworthy’ posts on the Windows Team blog and they’re worth keeping in touch with for the latest and greatest apps.

At the moment I’m completely addicted to Doodle God (and almost finished the current Episode 1-3 edition). I really wish it had Xbox Live integration (and therefore achievements).

Anyway, a quick update on what I’m toting at the moment:
Soon to be added will be Netflix and Haypi Kingdom I reckon. Any others I should be using?
