That Windows 8 Thing

In case you missed it, then Steven Sinofsky pulled some of the wrapping off the Windows 8 box today at the AllThingsD (after trading a few with Walt Mossberg).  You can catch the AllThingsD coverage here.

The video above shows some of the user experience – very metro-y WP7-y and the notion of apps using HTML5 and JS opens a bunch of opportunities. We also announced the Build conference where we’ll show you how to, well, build for this next generation of devices running Windows 8. (Might be a good idea to register soon...)

Rebooting the Client Platform Blog

It’s been a while, but it’s nice to see Tim Sneath’s blog spring back into life. “The Client Platform” is a big old topic to talk about but from the posts of the past couple of weeks it looks like HTML5 and IE9 are the current order of the day.
