Silverlight Toolkit on Web Platform Installer
Just noticed that the WebPI now has the Silverlight Toolkit as an install option (it's the October 2009 version). You can still get it from CodePlex too, but this is a handy option for removing that extra bit of friction.

.net Magazine Expression Tutorials
If you haven't dabbled in Expression then .net magazine is publishing some interesting tutorials and exploration of Expression and Silverlight capabilities. At the moment, there's a useful review of Expression Studio 3 and a tutorial on building network-aware desktop applications (or out-of-browser). Worth a look-see.

Silverlight and Windows 7 Firestarters
Some good looking events on the Firestarter site:
- Signup here for: September 17th, there's a day of Silverlight with speakers including ScottGu, Tim Heuer, Adam Kinney, Brad Abrams and Karl Shifflet - not bad going.
- Signup here for: September 18th, there's a day of Windows 7 which looks to be focused on deployment and migration for IT Pros.
Although these events are actually hosted out of Redmond then the links above will sign you up to the live webcast instead which is a great option.

Convexion: PowerPoint -> Silverlight Converter
This announcement popped into my inbox from Electric Rain just the other day (they're the team that brought you ZAM 3D amongst other stuff).
Convexion is a PPT 2007 plug-in (due for release in Sept 2009 according to the site) that exports PPTX files to Silverlight/WPF. There's a good demo on the site here.
